Shuffle’s largest exhibition to date took place in Spring 2024 at at Stanley Dock’s Tobacco Warehouse. Launching with a dynamic opening event, the exhibition offered a carefully curated selection of works by both emerging and established artists in an extraordinary exhibition venue. Tobacco Warehouse is a spectacular Grade II-listed structure, which was the largest brick building in the world at the time of its construction in 1901 and is now being renovated into stunning luxury apartments. The Shuffle exhibition and event took up a huge ground floor unit within the Tobacco Warehouse.

The artist line up at Tobacco Warehouse included Shuffle favourites such as Leo Fitzmaurice, Alana Lake, alongside new additions from established artists of critical acclaim, like Peter Layzel and Keith Ashcroft to hot picks, selected from Liverpool John Moores degree course, Katie Sadler and Jack Mousley.

The vast warehouse enabled a variety of large scale artworks to be shown, including huge suspended paintings by Luke George and a dynamic sculpture by Manchester based Joe Hancock. A defined area for digital works housed interactive and immersive artworks by Ada Nul and Gregory Herbert and atmospheric projections that accompanied live DJ sets from Iniquity on opening night.

The opening event, which ran from the afternoon into the night, hosted delicious food from Taste of India, a licensed bar and a special performance from Leeds based artist Glen Ogden and his team. The exhibition continued for three weeks, welcoming visitors from Liverpool and beyond.
